The Erskine Invitational is the meet for all swimmers! |
Each summer, on the first Saturday of August, The Erskine Invitational is held at the Upper Lake Lanes in Erskine Lakes. The address is 23 Upper Lakeview Ave, Ringwood, NJ (at the intersection of Pequot Road and Upper Lakeview Avenue).
The Upper Lake swim lanes area is well shaded, spacious, and family friendly. There is a small playground on the grounds and plenty of picnic tables. The kitchen is open throughout the Erskine Invitational and delicious breakfast, lunch, and snacks, including homemade baked goods, are sold. Only cash is accepted. During the summer of 2022, the Odd Age Invitational has been cancelled. Adding the Erskine Invitational to the meet calendar will add an additional opportunity for members of each team to swim for official times. All swimmers with either a “B” or a “C” time, or no recorded time, following the Highland Lakes “B” Invitational Swim Meet are eligible to swim for points and awards. Awards will be distributed through 16th place. This gives swimmers a chance to compete with other swimmers who have similar times for each event and a chance to swim for an “A” time and qualify for the “A” Championship Swim Meet which is traditionally held the following weekend. Swimmers with an “A” time in a given stroke may swim in the age group open event for that stroke. While the open events are not scored, and the swimmers will not be eligible to score points or win awards, these swimmers will have another opportunity to swim the event for a faster “A” time to improve their seeding at the “A” Championship Meet. Additionally, 6 and Under swimmers who have been working hard at practice all summer, will have the opportunity to swim 25-meter Freestyle and 25-meter Backstroke. All 6 and under event participants will receive one trophy with the times for one or both events recorded on the bottom of the trophy! The Erskine Invitational is the meet for all swimmers - those with ”B” or “C” times, those pushing themselves for a personal best or an “A” time, those looking to improve their “A” times, and those youngest swimmers just starting their swimming careers! There is no limit to the number of events in which swimmers may participate. Each swimmer may swim in as many individual and relay events for which he or she qualifies. |
